What to look for

Hardware choices that affect the final look

Hardware should be selected with the door style, finish, appliance handles, and room design in mind. A beautiful pull can look too small, too busy, or too modern if it is chosen separately from the cabinet plan.

Knobs

Simple detail

Often used on doors, smaller drawers, vanities, built-ins, and traditional cabinet designs where a smaller touch feels right.

Pulls

Daily-use grip

Great for drawers, pantry cabinets, trash pull-outs, appliance panels, and modern or transitional kitchens where longer lines help the design.

Hinges & Functional Hardware

Performance matters

Hinges, organizers, soft-close parts, and functional hardware should be matched to the cabinet construction and how the space will be used.

Selection checklist

What to bring back to Ott's

A few details make hardware approvals easier and help prevent delays once the cabinet layout is ready.

1

Save the product name or item number

Screenshot the hardware page or write down the item number so the exact knob, pull, or hinge can be reviewed.

2

Note the finish

Black, brushed nickel, brass, bronze, chrome, and other finishes can look very different in person and should be coordinated with appliances and lighting.

3

Check the size

Pull length and projection matter. Oversized drawers, tall pantry doors, and appliance panels may need a different size than standard doors.

4

Review placement before drilling

Hardware location should be approved with the cabinet layout. Once doors and drawer fronts are drilled, changes are much harder.
